Lance Thompson studied Art History and French at a private college in the Midwest where his first internship was writing grants in the development department at The Art Institute of Chicago. Subsequently studying in France and England, he worked at Durini Gallery (Latin American Art) in Knightsbridge. Upon finishing his degree in the US, Lance returned to London to work for the Roy Miles Gallery in Mayfair on Bruton Street where his first sale was a pair of paintings to Sheikh Maktoum. Relocating to New York he worked many years for Richard Feigen at Richard L. Feigen & Co., the legendary art dealer, gallery, and collector specializing in Old Masters, Modern, and Impressionism, dealing with many of the top collectors, art collections, and museums in the world. Later, he became Associate Director at Jack Kilgore & Co., a private gallery specializing in 17 & 18th C. Dutch and Flemish paintings.
